Most healthcare systems become involved after symptoms appear. Ahead Health is building its service around an earlier point: tracking changes before they become more difficult to address.

The Zurich-based company has secured €8.7 million, equivalent to $10 million, in funding led by 3VC and RTP Global. The investment supports Ahead Health’s expansion from Switzerland into Germany and the Netherlands, its first international markets.

Founded by Nick Lenten, Sven Jaeschke, Dennis Hermann and Vinsensius Vega, Ahead brings together experience across consumer technology, medical imaging, digital healthcare and cloud AI. Lenten serves as CEO, Jaeschke as CPO, Hermann as COO and Vega as CTO.

The platform combines advanced blood testing, whole-body MRI, medical history and AI-supported analysis inside a doctor-reviewed preventive check-up. Rather than treating every appointment as a separate snapshot, Ahead compares results over time against each person’s own baseline.

This places the company within the wider shift toward AI-supported preventive healthcare, where clinical data is being used to identify meaningful changes earlier and give people clearer next steps.

Ahead has already built a network of more than 20 partner centers in Switzerland. Its expansion will follow the same partnership model, working with established clinics, radiology centers and physicians instead of building company-owned facilities from the ground up.

The German rollout begins in Munich with comprehensive blood testing covering areas such as metabolic health, inflammation, organ function and cardiovascular risk. Customers in the Netherlands can join a waitlist ahead of the broader launch.

Ahead’s approach differs from vertically integrated preventive-health companies, which develops its own scanning hardware and operate dedicated clinics. Ahead is betting that local medical partnerships can help it expand with less physical infrastructure.

The round also adds Ahead Health to a growing group of European startup funding stories focused on moving healthcare from reactive treatment toward earlier intervention.
