Security teams do not need another tool that processes alerts faster but still leaves people checking every conclusion.
Mate Security has raised $35 million in Series A funding, bringing its total financing to more than $50 million only eight months after emerging from stealth. Canaan Partners led the round, with Insight Partners, Team8 and M12 participating.
Mate was founded in 2025 by cybersecurity and AI executives Asaf Wiener, Oren Saban and Guy Pergal, whose backgrounds include companies such as Wiz and Microsoft. The startup is developing an open platform where AI agents can investigate alerts, hunt for threats and support response across enterprise security operations.
Its central argument is that automation alone is not enough. A suspicious login, file transfer or infrastructure change can look dangerous when viewed as an isolated event. The same activity may be legitimate when connected to an approved test, employee role or internal support ticket.
Mate organizes that information through its Security Context Graph, which brings together policies, past investigations, system ownership, tickets and organizational changes. Its agents use this shared context to explain findings and operate more consistently instead of evaluating every alert from the beginning.
The company says adoption is increasing among Fortune 500 organizations and reports growth of more than 500% since the third quarter of 2025. These figures are company-reported. The funding will support further product development and the expansion of its research, customer support and commercial teams, with a strong focus on the US market.
Mate’s challenge is not proving that AI can accelerate security investigations. It must show that enterprises can trust its agents with enough context and control to act when the decision carries real operational risk.
