Most AI assistants wait for users to type a question. NeoSapien is building an assistant designed to stay present throughout the day.

The Bengaluru startup has secured its second patent for Neo 1, its pendant-style AI wearable, while also launching the product in the United States. The development gives the Indian-built device stronger intellectual-property protection as NeoSapien moves into an international market.

Founded in 2024 by Dhananjay Yadav and Aryan Yadav, NeoSapien describes Neo 1 as a personal “second brain.” The device captures conversations under user control, converts speech into text and organizes the information into meeting summaries, reminders and action items.

Neo 1 runs on the company’s Second Brain Operating System. NeoSapien says the device weighs 20 grams, supports speech-to-text across more than 140 languages and uses voice fingerprinting to identify its owner. The company also says audio recordings are deleted after transcription, while users can remove stored transcripts through its app.

The latest patent, Indian Patent No. 596075, covers an “Emotion-Sensitive LED Wearable Device for Real-Time Emotional Feedback.” Filed in November 2024 and granted on July 20, 2026, it protects technology designed to communicate emotional information through the wearable’s LED system.

NeoSapien’s first patent covered an adaptive AI coaching system that translates longer-term goals into smaller actions. Together, the patents show how the company is combining software intelligence with purpose-built consumer hardware.

The company is part of a wider shift toward AI systems operating through physical devices rather than remaining limited to browser-based assistants. Its US launch also reflects growing international interest in Indian-built AI products.

NeoSapien’s challenge will be proving that an always-available assistant can provide useful memory and productivity support while maintaining user consent, data security and social trust.
